Leuchtturm Garten Bahn, making a start:

From April 2020 due to Covid lock downs, very difficult to achieve very much, spent time on garden clearance, moving an existing shed and purchased and installing a new shed for the the garden railway activities.

Work commenced in March 2021 on constructing the garden railway.

Stages 1,2, and 3 completed by the end of April 2021, first train ran on the 5th May 2021.

Stage 5 commenced and completed in June 2022, additional sidings for Stage 1.

Stage 4 commenced and completed in July 2022, required realignment of the existing Stage 3, and an additional corner return  to the new Stage 4.

Stage 1 now known as Schuppen Bahnhof

Stage 5 now known as Schuppen Abstellgleise

Stage 2 now known as Weißdorn Halt

Stage 3 now known as Kirsche Halt

Stage 4 now known as Zaun Bahnhof


All of the previous garden railway equipment has been reused on the Leuchtturm Garten Bahn all the track, points, point motors are LGB, DCC equipment a mixture of Massoth and PIKO.

This time around, more specific and regimented in acquiring locomotives and rolling stock, the theme is based around the Wangerooge Island Railway……….

Timber construction at waist height, all treated sawn timber, plus an additional six or more coats of timber preservative, 2”x 1”, 2”x 2” for the framing, 6”x 1” for the top covered in roofing felt.

The railway operates on most days, the inclement weather has more effect on the operator than the railway.
